Carol Ann O'NEILL December 26, 1947 - November 3, 2003 "A faithful friend is a sure shelter, whoever finds one has found a rare treasure."(Sirach 6:14) A devoted mother and wife, loving and gifted teacher and faithful friend to so many passed away at her home after a three year battle with cancer. Carol was born in Seattle to Dr. Donald and Edith Laviolette. She attended St. Paul Grade School, Holy Names Academy, graduated from Gonzaga University in 1970 and completed her Masters in Education at City University in 1998. She was an elementary school teacher in the Auburn and Issaquah School Districts and was dedicated to bringing her creativity, compassion and joy for learning to her first graders at Sunset Elementary. Carol is survived by her husband, Dennis, precious daughters Katharine and Carley of Bellevue; sister Mary Laviolette Smith and husband James of Tacoma; step-mother Elizabeth Laviolette of Seattle; aunt Sr. Mary James Laviolette, OP of Seattle; uncle John Foster and wife Roseann of Union, NE. Funeral Mass was held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, at St. Madeleine Sophie Catholic Church, 4400 130th Pl. S.E., Bellevue.
